Metro to take a 'TrYP' through select Cincinnati entertainment districts

Part of outreach to Cincy's young professionals

CINCINNATI — You’ve probably never been on a party bus like this one.

Cincinnati Metro is teaming up with CincyYP to host “Metro TrYP” — an evening-long tour of some of the city’s most popular hang-out spots, all via Metro buses.

The second annual TrYP will include stops in Mt. Lookout, East Walnut Hills, O’Bryonville, Oakley, Hyde Park, Over-the-Rhine, and Downtown. Three buses will run 30-minute loops around town, arriving at each stop within 10 minutes.

“This is a fun way for young professionals to be introduced to Metro’s services,” said Kim Lahman, Metro’s director of outreach and sustainability. “I believe most participants will feel more comfortable giving Metro a try after they experience just how easy and convenient public transit can be."

Participants will learn how to plan a trip on Metro and how to use Metro’s new real-time trip planning apps while en-route between destinations.

Participating bars will also offer specials along the route for TrYP pass-holders. Participating bars include:

The Oak Tavern
Oakley Pub & Grill

Hyde Park

Cock N Bull

Mt. Lookout

East Walnut Hills

The Growler House
Myrtles Punch House

The Drinkery

Downtown/Fountain Square

Righteous Room

This year's lineup of participating bars makes 18, seven more than last year, Lahman said.

Metro TrYP costs $7 for unlimited rides throughout the evening — participants can board or exit the bus at any stop at anytime — or $20 for a group of four. Buy tickets here.

The Metro entertainment buses will run Saturday night, August 29, from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m.
