LOVELAND, Ohio - Officials in Loveland are working on a plan to temporarily block the construction of a proposed gun range on Loveland-Madeira Road, which is not far from the district's primary and elementary schools.
9 On Your Side reporter Bryce Anslinger has learned that the Loveland City Council wants to hold a vote put an emergency ordinance into effect that would create a 45-day moratorium on moving the gun range into the area.
The city is now attempting to organize a meeting but logistical problems are making it difficult to bring the council together to vote on the issue, according to Anslinger.
In order to pass the emergency measure, the council would need six votes. The city expects there will be no problem collecting the necessary votes.
The city says its attempting to work with the project developer to find a new location for the gun range, one farther away from Loveland schools.
