CINCINNATI - 9 On your Side talks with Dean Regas from the Cincinnati Observatory about an event to safely look at the surface of the sun.
On July 14, the observatory is hosting a "Sun Day, Sunday, Sundae" event exploring the sun. For a little extra fun for children of all ages, organizers of the event are going to serve ice cream sundaes.
Regas says it is unsafe to look at the sun with the naked eye. But the Observatory has tools and filters allowing you to see the always-changing surface of the sun.
There is a $7 admission fee and you do not need a reservation for the event, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m.
