CINCINNATI -- Over 100 people gathered on Fountain Square Saturday, calling on President Donald Trump to release his tax information.

The protest mirrored hundreds of other Tax Day marches across the country; marches were scheduled in 150 cities from Washington, D.C., to Denver, to Los Angeles, ABC News reported.

Trump is the first U.S. president to refuse to release his full tax returns to the public.

John Hoskins, who participated in the rally Downtown, said he’s upset Trump has not released his tax return information as he promised during his campaign.

"If I can reveal who I am and how I operate so can he,” Hoskins said.

Others like Jeremy Bond said they’re concerned with the lack of transparency.

"That I could be paying more taxes than someone who is making millions and millions of dollars sort of bothers me,” Bond said.

In addition to calling for transparency, the rally also promoted legislation surrounding tax brackets, according to attendee Phyllis Witt.

"We would not only like to see the president's taxes but we would also like to see legislation that make the wealthy, the top 1 percent pay their fair share,” Witt said.

Bond said the number of Tax Day marches that have taken place across the county makes him feel like change may be on the horizon.

"I've never seen people as a whole react like this, so I think that’s very encouraging that people are finally coming together to speak out against the things that are damaging our country,” Bond said.

While most of the Tax Day events were peaceful, fights broke out during a march in Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park in Berkeley, California. Police said 15 people were arrested, with more expected, according to ABC News. There were large fights, property damage and objects being thrown, including fireworks, police said.

Tuesday is the last day to file 2016 tax returns.
