CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati grandmother was held on an $8,000 bond Sunday night after crashing a car while high on cocaine that morning, police said. According to charges filed against her by the Cincinnati Police Department, her two infant grandchildren were in the back seat at the time of the wreck.

Teresa Young, 55, now stands charged with two counts of child endangerment and one of driving with a suspended license. Her grandchildren, a 3-year-old and 11-month-old, were both unharmed by the crash.

“People do stupid things, basically," said Michelle Smith, a neighbor of Young’s. “You never know the reason for doing it is stupidity. That’s all I can think of."

Young will appear in court at the end of October.
