CINCINNATI — Eating Graeter’s ice cream never tasted so good.

The company is giving away scoops of Elena’s Blueberry Pie ice cream in a sugar cone Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of their annual Cones for the Cure campaign.

All that Graeter’s asks in turn is that people make a donation to the Cure Starts Now Cancer Research Foundation. The foundation’s mission, championed by Mount Saint Joseph University basketball player Lauren Hill, is to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.  Hill campaigned for the Cure Starts Now as she battled a rare form of the disease herself. Hill died earlier this year.

Greater’s Cones For the Cure campaign is an annual event for the company. Last year, the event raised $75,000 for pediatric cancer research.

People unable to get a free scoop of ice cream Thursday will have a second opportunity for a free scoop later in the month. People can also make donations at all Graeter's locations starting today through Sept. 20.
