CINCINNATI - The car sharing company ZipCar has arrived in downtown Cincinnati.
Six of the vehicles will be parked in designated spaces downtown. To use them you will need to create an account with ZipCar and reserve the time you need a vehicle.
According to the City's Office of Environmental Quality, for every ZipCar in a community, 15 personal vehicles are taken off the road. Larry Falkin with the Environmental Quality Office tells 9 News that when you look at the parking lots downtown filled with vehicles that are rarely driven, the ZipCar could open up spaces.
On Thursday, the cars were on display at Fountain Square.
The reserved spaces downtown can be found at the following three locations:
East 12th Street and Vine Street
East Court Street and Walnut Street
Garfield Place and Race Street
