Pet Pals: Don't forget pets in the bitter cold

This week on Pet Pals, Katy Campolongo with Fourgotten Paws Animal Rescue brought in an adorable 10-month-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Pippin…he needs a home!

With the bitterly cold temperatures headed our way, we all need to think about our pets. The biggest concern during this cold, wintry weather is outdoor dogs. Typically, you need to provide sufficient shelter to stay warm, and their water and food need to be checked as it could freeze in just a matter of hours.

IMPORTANT! Because temperatures will be below zero Sunday night through Tuesday morning, please bring pets indoors, even if it’s just the garage or basement. If you witness animal neglect, contact your local humane society or police department.
