City Council wrestles with $60M deficit

CINCINNATI - Hamilton County's Administrator says the county is in good shapefinancially, even though it's cutting spending for the fourth yearin row.

Patrick Thompson presented his budget to commissioners onMonday.

He told commissioners his budget is balanced and does notrequire a tax increase.

It also doesn't require the county to pull money out of thegeneral fund.

The budget also gives more money to the sheriff's office thanwhat was originally expected.

The City of Cincinnati is just beginning its budget process.Officials expect a $60 million deficit in next year's budget.

The planning department presented its part of the budget to thefinance committee Monday.
