CINCINNATI - Did you know $1 can feed a person for an entire day?

The 10th annual Freestore Foodbank Hunger Walk and 5K Run takes place this Memorial Day to raise money for organizations that help feed our neighbors.

All of the registration fees and donations benefit the more than 300 soup kitchens, pantries, shelters, community groups and social service organizations working with the Freestore Foodbank.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. at Sawyer Point.

As a result, several downtown streets will be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27, and until approximately 11:30 a.m., including the following streets:

  • E. Pete Rose Way: eastbound closed between Johnny Bench Way and Eggleston Avenue
  • Riverside Drive: eastbound closed between Eggleston Avenue and Bains Street
  • Mehring Way: closed between E Pete Rose Way and Johnny Bench Way
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge: closed
