CINCINNATI -- A downtown Cincinnati company is going green as it opens a new solar parking system at its corporate headquarters.

Burke, Inc., will open its new solar electric parking canopy system at 10 a.m. Monday at its headquarters at 500 W. Seventh St.

Mayor Mark Mallory will speak at the event and members of the Green Energy Ohio and United State Green Business Council will be in attendance.

Company officials said the solar parking system is the first of its kind for a for-profit company in Cincinnati.

Officials said it will generate thousands of kilowatt hours of clean energy over its lifetime.

The system was designed by Dovetail Solar and Wind and is unique to Burke.
