CINCINNATI - The high-profile shootings took place at Findlay Market on Friday night, and Fountain Square on Saturday night.
In both cases, police shot armed suspects. Those shootings are under investigation, but the city's new police chief says the officers followed department procedures.
Perception is reality in Cincinnati, so leaders are concerned that these otherwise-isolated incidents could scare away the people who have recently returned to downtown and Over-the-Rhine leading to a renaissance in the city's core.
Cincinnati City Council members Leslie Ghiz and Cecil Thomas sat down with 9 News to discuss the police-involved shootings at two of Cincinnati's most iconic destinations.
Both Thomas and Ghiz agreed that Findlay Market and Fountain Square are still safe.
