CINCINNATI - A woman is recovering in an area hospital after she was unexpectedly shot in her College Hill apartment early Thursday morning.
A 30-year-old was sitting on the couch in her two-family apartment in the 1400 block of Ambrose Avenue when a bullet traveled through the drywall and struck her. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body, although it's not yet clear how many shots were fired, police said.
Emergency crews transported the woman to an area hospital and her injuries are not life-threatening, according to officials.
The woman had a friend over who had just recently left the apartment. The friend heard the gunfire and came back in to find the woman with blood all over her. The friend cleaned her up and noticed gunshot wounds and notified officials.
Officials are working to determine the suspects in the case and have not released any additional details at this time.
