Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle on Hamilton Avenue in College Hill

CINCINNATI - A person died Friday evening after being struck by a car in College Hill.

Cincinnati police report Mackenzie Cleary, 26, was struck by a Jeep Compass in the 6300 block of Hamilton Avenue. The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m.

Emergency crews transported Cleary to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. He succumbed to those injuries before 11 p.m.

The driver of the Jeep Compass was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to Christ Hospital. The driver showed no signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Police have not filed any charges and are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Traffic Unit at 513-352-352-2514.
