CINCINNATI -- Chopper 9 Reporter Dan Carroll surprised one of his biggest fans, Aiken High School eighth-grader Mateo Stephen, with a visit to Lunken Airport this week to see where all the magic happens.
We first met Mateo when he shared his admiration for Carroll when WCPO visited Aiken last week.

After seeing that video, Carroll, Chopper 9 pilot Chris Robison, Aiken Principal Lisa Votaw and Mateo's mother, Teresa Stephens, all barged in on Mateo's science class to surprise him.
"Everybody knows ..." Mateo said, stunned.
Once he figured out why they were there, it was off to Lunken Airport to explore Chopper 9, which Mateo called "the Sistine Chapel on blades."
"He's a fan of choppers, anything that spins," Teresa Stephens said. "He loves helicopters and always goes to Green Township when they have the emergency vehicles on display. Apparently he's been watching the news more than I know!"
