Cincinnati police work with Hughes High School staff to identify trio behind UC student's beating

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati police are working with Hughes High School staff to determine who might be a to blame for an assault that happened near the University of Cincinnati.

Officers said the attack happened Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Ohio Avenue.

A UC student said he was walking on a sidewalk when three teenagers came up from behind and punched him in the back of the head.

Investigators said the trio did not try to rob the student.

Police said the teens were wearing black shirts and khaki pants and may have been Hughes High School students.

Officers said they were working with the high school’s staff to identify the trio.
