Cincinnati family to appear on 'House Hunters' on HGTV

CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati family will be showcased on an all-new episode of 'House Hunters International' on HGTV Tuesday night.

Jeff and Natalie Hastings of Anderson Township will be the focus of the 30-minute HGTV show as they search for a beach house near Leon, Nicaragua.

The back story of the episode will feature Cincinnati, and show the couple's home in Georgetown Village as well as downtown landmarks, including Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal.

"I love any chance to highlight our beautiful city and all that it offers," said Director of Strategic Communications at Cincinnati Museum Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Natalie Hastings in a release.

The Hastings family contacted HGTV last year when they began their search for a vacation and retirement home on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. The family read an article in the New York Times about Nicaragua years ago and after traveling there, found it to be safe, affordable and beautiful.

"We were looking for a beach house with an authentic feel where we could be part of the local community, not locked in a gated community," Jeff Hastings said.

A little play on words: the episode is titled, "Risky Beach Business in Leon," because Jeff Hastings is a vice president of risk at Fifth Third Bank.

The show will air Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10:30 p.m. on HGTV.
