CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Country Day School holds it's annual Turkey Train food drive for the House of Refuge Missions.
Cincinnati Country Day has held a food drive to help the House of Refuge Missions (THORM) for 25 years now. CCD is the single largest donor to the organization.
CCD holds a middle school "Turkey Train" to provide Thanksgiving meals for the needy. Upper and lower school students are asked to bring canned goods and other non-perishables for the food drive. Middle school students are asked to donate frozen turkeys.
Country Day has donated food for the last 25 years, but only began the Turkey Train mission in 2008.
Last year, middle school families donated 155 turkeys - weighing in at over 2,000 lbs of meat! Since 2008, students and families have donated nearly 11,000 lbs. of turkeys to THORM in Clifton for needy families.
THORM is always accepting donations to their Woopler Avenue location. You can contact the Refuge to find out how you can help by calling (513) 221-5491.
