CHEVIOT, Ohio -- A man was charged with theft after police say he stole a veteran's Purple Heart medal and several other military medals.
Keith Carota, 29, stole the medals on Oct. 10 at a residence in the 4100 block of Janward Avenue, according to court documents.
Investigators say pawn shop records at the American Trading Co. on Harrison Avenue show Carota pawned the medals.
Carota was arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday in a Hamilton County courtroom and given a $15,000 bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23 at 9 a.m.
