ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Interstate 275 was down to one eastbound lane near the New Richmond exit as crews responded to an overturned semitractor-trailer that crashed around 4 a.m. Thursday.

Thirty-year-old Lance Whitehead, of Somerset, Kentucky, sustained only minor injuries as his truck slid nearly 100 feet down a hillside off the right side of the highway. Whitehead was bound for Columbus, hauling food from Somerset.

Crews said they struggled to upright the overturned big rig since it was so far down the embankment. They reopened the road around 5:30 a.m. with plans to return later in the morning with heavy equipment. That means the interstate will need to close around 10 a.m. to noon to upright the truck.

Whitehead was transported to Anderson Mercy Hospital for evaluation. The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. If any one has any information regarding the crash, please contact the Hamilton County Traffic Safety Section at 513-825-1500.
