CINCINNATI - Hamilton County commissioners are expected to vote on a 2013 budget Monday morning. The budget proposed by commissioner Greg Hartmann calls for a 7 percent cut across the board.
According to the county's budget office, the cuts could mean 250 county employees being laid off from the county's current 2,200 employees.
Commissioner Hartmann's budget also calls for a general fund of $192 million. The 2013 cuts are in addition to $65 million in general fund reductions since 2007. Each department will face reductions from the county administrators recommended budget, except those mandated at certain funding levels due to state law. The budget proposal does not raise taxes.
Commissioners are expected to vote on the budget at a board meeting at 11 a.m. Monday.
