CINCINNATI - A group linked to President Barack Obama will be in Avondale on Wednesday afternoon to protest against gun violence.
Organizing for Action -- the successor to the Obama 2012 presidential campaign’s Organizing for America -- is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) social welfare and community organization project.
OFA volunteers said they will be making chalk drawings on the sidewalks of the Avondale community to “cover the bloodshed” during the event.
The group said it aims to use a positive and uplifting message to push legislators to act to support expanded gun background checks.
The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near the corner of Reading Road and Forest Avenue.
Though officially non-partisan, the group’s agenda and policies are closely linked to the president’s and the Democratic National Party.
