CINCINNATI -- If you awoke Friday morning with panic after noticing your direct deposit paycheck didn't show up in your Fifth Third Bank account, you aren't alone.
The local company said a delay of processing files that came into the bank overnight from Thursday to Friday was to blame for customers' paycheck interruption.
Fifth Third spokesperson Stephanie Honan said this is not related to a hacking issue. The problem was resolved by about 9:30 a.m.
It was unclear how many accounts were affected by the processing snafu.
If your account is set up to pay bills directly Friday, Honan said the system problem should not affect that.
"If there is a customer situation where that’s a concern, they should contact us directly," she said.
