CINCINNATI -- More than 7,600 Duke Energy customers were in the dark Saturday night into Sunday morning as to when they'd have power restored as heavy rains and strong winds left their mark on the Tri-State.
The overall number of outages peaked just after midnight when Duke Energy reported 7,624 customers in southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky had lost power. By 8 a.m. the number was cut in half to 3,673 and continued to drop throughout the day.
Most of customers who lost power were in Hamilton County in Ohio and Boone County in Northern Kentucky.
However, various other counties across the region reported hundreds of storm-related outages, including Campbell County in Northern Kentucky, and Butler and Clermont counties in Ohio.
Duke Energy also worked to repair a handful of outages in eastern Indiana.
