BATAVIA, Ohio - The Clermont County General Health District is offering seasonal flu shots at a drive-thru clinic Saturday.
The special clinic will be held from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at New Richmond High School, located at 1131 Bethel-New Richmond Rd.
"The drive-thru flu clinic allows individuals to receive a flu shot without getting out of their vehicles. This is a valuable service to the public, especially for those with disabilities or other issues which prevent them from visiting a walk-in clinic, doctor's office, or pharmacy," Clermont County Assistant Health Commissioner Julianne Nesbit said. "Getting a flu shot is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and others from seasonal flu."
This will be the last opportunity to receive a flu shot for $15 from the General Health District. Due to the rising cost of vaccines and supplies, the Health District will increase fees to $20 starting Oct. 1. Checks, Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance will not be accepted at the drive-thru clinic and no appointments are needed.
Those on Medicare, Medicaid, or not comfortable with the drive-thru clinic may schedule an appointment to receive a flu shot at the Clermont County General Health District Nursing Division by calling 735-8400.
Participants will remain in their vehicles for the entire process. Those seeking a flu shot should wear clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone six months and older receive a seasonal flu shot, especially people who are considered high risk for developing complications from the flu.
