Dearborn Co. deputies capture man who displayed gun to conservation officers

WEST HARRISON, Ind. - A man who allegedly showed a gun to Dearborn County conservation officers has been apprehended.

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Edward Jones Jr. or West Jefferson, Ind. was taken into custody at approximately 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Dearborn County dispatch confirmed that a man showed his gun to conservation officers around 9 a.m. Sunday morning while the officers were responding to a trespassing call. The suspect then fled into a nearby wooded area on foot, deputies say.

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police searched for the suspect in a wooded area between Barth and Davidson roads in West Harrison, Ind.

K9 units and a helicopter were utilized during the search.

Charges against Jones are pending.
