CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati will receive the Public University of the Year award from The Washington Center at the National Press Club on Oct. 7.
The award will recognize UC for its support of experiential education through its partnership with TWC, an independent, nonprofit organization that provides selected students with opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C., for academic credit.
“The University of Cincinnati is a shining example of how universities are taking the traditional curriculum model and incorporating study-away internship experiences that teach self awareness, community engagement and life-long leadership skills,” said Mike Smith, TWC president.
Zach Osborne, program director of UC's Division of Professional Practice and Experiential Learning (ProPEL), will accept the award on behalf of the university.
