MILFORD, Ohio - Clermont County dispatch received a call about a suspicious item found in someone's front lawn at 12:45 p.m. Monday.

Miami Township Fire/EMS were sent to the 1202 Queenie Lane Avenue in Miami Township to investigate what a caller identified as a possible pipe bomb found while he mowed his lawn. Once

Crews evacuated the immediate area while they investigated. The Cincinnati Bomb Squad was called and determined the item found to be a commercially manufactured part, possibly from a car.

"We have always exercised caution when dealing with a reported suspicious device," said Chief Jim Whitworth.  "But with recent events, the public and responders are even more sensitive to the potential for a devastating event.  This turned out to be a good practical exercise for approaching a suspicious situation, and a confirmation of the importance for having the capability to respond to these situations in the region."
