How much do you really know about our towns? On Friday, I tested you knowledge while hiding out in the city of Milford.

Here were some of the clues:

  • 6,900 people
  • One of two "cities" in Clermont County
  • Eagles
  • Valley View
  • Bicycle trail head
  • Little Miami River

Milford has a small-town feel with a slew of mom-and-pop shops and restaurants. There are so many outdoor amenities! From kayaking, canoeing, biking or walking trails, this is a city where it's easy to get lost in the beauty of mother nature. And the downtown district offers a mix of food, fun and shopping that will have you busy for hours. A new brewery is also opening soon in town.

You can tell the people that live here take pride in their town. It really takes a village, in this case a city, to make small businesses last and thrive. I was able to stop in one of the newer locations, Harvest Market, to see part of this downtown business boom in action.

The people really make this town. From the friendly smiles, warm welcomes or a simple wave as you walk down the street, there's a reason by Milford has been named the best small town by Ohio Magazine.

Promont is a Victorian mansion circa 1865 and the former home of John M. Pattison, Ohio’s 43rd Governor.

A special thank you goes out to Lori Pegg with the city for showing me around town. She's a true ambassador for Milford! Also to Vanessa Hannah at Valley View for the trail and hops education, Donna Amann with the historical society for the lesson on Promont, Mayor Laurie Howland for representing the city so well on the show and, of course, Ms. Cheri's Donuts for allowing us to take over the front of the store for the morning.

Don't miss the pastry options at Ms. Cheri's Donuts and More at 223 Main St.
