BATAVIA TWP., Ohio -- Two people died in an early Saturday morning crash in Clermont County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 5 a.m. on Old Ohio Route 74 near the intersection of Olive Branch-Stonelick Road.
Devin Alexander Zeisler, 22, of Alexandria, Ky. lost control of his blue Honda Civic after drifting from the eastbound to westbound lane, according to highway patrol troopers.
Zeisler over-corrected and his car slid off the road, striking a fire hydrant before flying over a creek and coming to rest against a large tree.
Both Zeisler and his passenger, Cody Jacob Phillips, 18, of Mount Washington were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two were wearing seatbelts, police said. Speed was a factor in the crash. It not immediately known if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
