City Council debates ordinance on vendor privileges for the 2015 All-Star Game

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati City Council talked baseball Tuesday.

The Law and Public Safety Committee considered the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and what it means for about 50 vendors.

The meeting is started at 10 a.m. in City Hall.

A Cincinnati spokesperson said the city values the role of vendors, but must balance the work done by the vendors with the requirements of the MLB and the safety of visitors.

Even with big crowds expected for All-Star Week, vendors may be pushed out of the area.

The meeting gave vendors a chance to vent their concerns.

The proposed language of the ordinance would prohibit vendors from selling anything inside a “baseball special event area” from midnight July 9, 2015 and 11:59 p.m. July 15, 2015.
