NEWPORT, Ky. – Police arrested a man suspected of multiple thefts, including stealing a pair of handcuffs and a badge from a sheriff deputy’s cruiser, on Wednesday.

Newport police arrested Tim Hollingsworth at a Speedway gas station on Monmouth Street.

Hollingsworth is suspected of being involving in multiple vehicle thefts and using a fraudulent credit card in Northern Kentucky and Hamilton County, Ohio.

A Northern Kentucky judge also issued an arrest warrant for Tim Hollingsworth on one count of assault. That charge originated in Elsmere, Ky.

Witnesses saw Hollingsworth near the Newport Pavilion Kroger. In more than one incident a woman accompanied Hollingsworth, police said.

He has a record that includes a history of robbery, misuse of a credit card and theft. Police also said he was an escape risk, evading custody in the past.

Hollingsworth was taken to the Campbell County Jail.
