3 NKU athletes named to the Academic All-Atlantic Sun Conference team

Three track and field athletes from Northern Kentucky University have been named to the Academic All-Atlantic Sun Conference team following the outdoor track season.

Sophomore Brady Holmer, and seniors Brad Fortuna and Josh Miller were among the 12 Atlantic Sun student-athletes to receive the honors, according to the university's website.

"Fortuna competed in the 5000-meter event at the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships, finishing 14th with a time of 15:28.09. Miller finished 10th in the hammer throw at the outdoor championships with a mark of 37.48 meters. He set a personal best in the discus at the conference meet with a mark of 37.90 meters, finishing 11th. This is the third time this year that Holmer has been named Academic All-Conference, having received the award following the cross country, and indoor track and field seasons, as well. Holmer excelled on the track during his sophomore season, setting new personal bests in the 1500-meter (4:26.99), 5000-meter (15:22.40) and 10,000-meter (32:18.05)," the website states.
