George Albert Laker died Aug. 24.
Laker was born in Cold Spring, Kentucky, in 1929. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and worked as an electrician as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 212 for 59 years. He was also a member of John R. Little VFW Post No. 3186, Southgate, and a member of St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, according to the Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Homes website, www.dmefuneral.com.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Laker of Cold Spring; daughters, Joan (Richard) McKewen of Cold Spring and Deborah (Robbie) Sumpter of Florence; grandchildren, Brian, Chris, Alyssa and Sarah; and brothers, Al Laker of Southgate and Butch Laker of Leesburg, Florida.
St. Joseph Church is at 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring.
