PD: Fatal Campbell County shooting stems from domestic incident

CALIFORNIA, Ky. -- An unspecified domestic situation led to the fatal shooting of a male in Campbell County on Sunday.

The shooting happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Flagg Spring Pike in the area of California, Kentucky, county police said.

Officers with the Campbell County Police Department say they found a male suffering from a single gunshot wound to his torso area. He died at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Police are withholding the name of the deceased.

The shooter and gun used remained at the home when officers arrived. Police have not identified the shooter but say they are cooperating with the ongoing investigation, as other people who were at the the scene.

Investigators would only say that the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation.
