WEST CHESTER, Ohio -- Deputies seized 190 marijuana plants during a search at a West Chester home Thursday.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office deputies and agents with the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force entered a home at 7820 Plantation Drive and found packages containing drugs.
Agents determined the packages had four pounds of marijuana and had been sent through the mail from a place of origin in southern California.
While searching the home, deputies said they found a large marijuana grow operation in the basement.
The task force seized 190 marijuana plants, as well as miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and needles. Agents also seized a 2002 Lexus.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Lewis Thomas III on charges of cultivation of marijuana, a third-degree felony.
Agents said the investigation is still active and they expect to make more arrests.
