MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Several months of investigating led police to make a drug bust and arrest five people in Middletown Wednesday.
Officers with the Middletown Police Department and the Butler County Drug Task Force found several spots on the south side of Middletown where thousands of dollars of illegal drugs and cash were held.
The suspects, police said, hauled in nearly a kilo of cocaine and heroin worth about $30,000. They also found about $15,000 in cash.
Police arrested five people, and have released the names of three: Damon Graham, William Rutledge and Marvella Hawkins.
Sgt. David Birk of the Middletown Police Department described Wednesday's find as the "biggest drug bust of the year" but also pointed out that there's still more work to do.
"It's a start," he said. "It's an ongoing fight but we continue to do the best we can with search warrants and seizures."
