More than a thousand people are waking up without power early Monday, down from more than 5,000 outages at 3 a.m.

CINCINNATI -- More than a thousand people are waking up without power early Monday, down from more than 5,000 outages at 3 a.m.
Duke Energy reports 977 power outages across Tri-State counties as of 9 a.m., including:
Kenton, Ky.: 1
Butler, Ohio: 1
Clermont, Ohio: 705
Hamilton, Ohio: 31
Warren, Ohio: 76
The majority of the outages were located in the downtown area of Middletown. Butler County police say the outages did not affect emergency response.
