Butler County residents band together to combat drug abuse at anti-heroin rally in Hamilton

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Butler County residents are banding together to take action against a growing problem in the Tri-State.

Several groups will hold a Heroin Awareness Rally from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Government Service Center at High Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Hamilton.

Candy Abbott organized the event and said she was spurred to action after watching her son battle addiction.

She will share her story and representatives from Sojourner Recover Services will also speak.

Tri-State recovery centers have reported seeing a dramatic increase in heroin abuse cases in recent years.
