FAIRFIELD, Ohio - Friends, family and those involved in the search for Katelyn Markham spoke during a brief but moving press conference Thursday evening.
Markham's father, David, delivered a statement to the media at the event held at Fairfield West Baptist Church, located at 5345 Muskopf Road.
David Markham discussed how thankful he was for the support he had received from the community and that he was happy to have some closure. However, as would be expected, Katelyn Markham's father voiced how difficult the past few days have been for him and his family.
Dave Rader, who participated in the 20-month search for Markham also spoke at the event. Rader, who is the director of the Ohio Chapter of the Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team, stood with multiple members of the search party while David Markham spoke.
The mother of Katelyn Markham's fiancé, John Carter, also spoke briefly.
"She's what every single mother ever dreamed of to date her child," Karyn Winkler said.
