FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - While people across the country have rallied together to collect food and supplies for those devastated by the tornadoes that ripped through Oklahoma on Monday, a Fairfield Township business owner is asking an important question: What about the pets?

Barb Thompson, the owner of Biscuit, Bath & Beyond Pet Salon, is collecting pet supplies, pet food and gift cards to help provide for the needs of the pets that had their homes and caregivers affected by the storms.

She's also collecting other "new and slightly used pet products," according to her Facebook page.

"So I figured my little neck of the woods right here I can at least try to get the community here involved and collect pet food blankets," said Thompson, who has five dogs of her own. "Any kind of needs the dogs might have once they find them or once they get stationed somewhere permanent again."

Thompson plans to drive her van to affected areas and deliver the donations in two weeks. Ever the optimist, she is negotiating to have U-Haul lend her a truck in case she can't fit all the supplies into her vehicle.

Donations can be dropped off at Biscuit, Bath & Beyond Pet Salon located at 5534 Eureka Drive in Fairfield Township.

If you'd like to help but are unable to drop off your donation, you can call 513-737-7297 to arrange a pickup.
