Friends, family plan 2 Markham searches

FAIRFIELD, Ohio - Monday marks one year since Katelyn Markham was last seen or heard from.

Markham, 22, was last seen at her townhouse on Dorshire Drive in Fairfield and reported missing on Aug. 13.

There have been several organized searches to try to locate her, including efforts by Texas EquuSearch, which specializes in organizing searches for missing people, and a $50,000 reward, but Markham remains missing.

No arrests have been made in relation to Markham's disappearance.

A man who reportedly lived and worked near the Fairfield residence of Markham, Gurpreet Kang, was arrested in June on sexual battery charges for a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Oxford in 2011, but authorities have not released information on a possible connection between the two.

Fairfield police say they have integrated this information into their investigation into Markham's disappearance, but will not make any further comment or release any further information.

Kang has since been released from the Butler County jail and put on electronic monitoring after posting bond. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Butler County Monday morning.
