Brown County man gets 25 years in prison for collecting, distributing child porn on social media

GEORGETOWN, Ohio – A Sardinia, Ohio man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to collecting and distributing child pornography on social media.

Marcus Spaulding’s charges include one count of importuning, one count of endangering children and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

Authorities said Facebook’s law enforcement division first discovered Spaulding’s illegal activity in the fall of 2013. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office was then involved in the investigation.

“This was one of the most disturbing cases I have encountered,” said First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Zac A. Corbin. “It should be known that if people choose to view or disseminate child pornography on the Internet, including through social media, those individuals will be tracked down and will be prosecuted aggressively.”
