WALTON, Ky. -- A dog and her four puppies were killed Thursday morning in a barn fire.
The fire was first reported at about 5:30 a.m. at a barn at 1438 Bramlage Road near Wilson Road.
Fire crews said a neighbor spotted the fire first and came over to warn the barn’s owner.
Investigators said the barn is a total loss. No residents or fire crews were injured.
The homeowner said he left a heating element in the barn to keep the puppies warm and that could have cause the fire.
Firefighters said they are still investigating the fire.
