Five hospitalized after Boone Co. car accident

VERONA, Ky. -- Five people were taken to Northern Kentucky hospitals Friday evening following a vehicle accident in Boone County.

Two vehicles, a Saturn sedan and a Jeep, collided at about 7 p.m. in the 14000 block of Walton-Verona Road.

The sedan's passenger side showed severe damage and the front windshield was smashed.

Witnesses on scene said a few passengers, including at least one child, looked to be okay. The accident happened on a dangerous stretch of Walton-Verona Road, according to a neighbor.

"With the hill here and the lack of vision form the hill, people pull over here," Jeff Shields said. "It's dangerous."

Deputies on scene were uncertain of the victims' injuries.

No further information was immediately available.
