UNION, Ky. -- A Union man has been accused of threatening to kill State Sen. John Schickel.

Kurt Lowe, 47, faces charges including third-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree fleeing or evading police, according to Boone County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Tom Scheben.

Officials said Lowe is accused of threatening Schickel and then leading deputies on a high-speed chase through a residential neighborhood when they tried to serve him a warrant.

Scheben said Lowe has been known to issue emails filled with claims of conspiracies against him by federal, state and county officials.

Lowe is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $75,000 bond. He is slated for an initial court appearance on Monday.
