HEBRON, Ky. -- One person was killed in a crash Wednesday evening on eastbound I-275 in Boone County.
The crash happened at about 7 p.m. when one car ran into the rear of another car that was parked on the side of the road.
Boone County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Scheben said 22-year-old Cincinnati resident Vincent Klopfstein was driving a four-door Scion and drifted into the emergency lane on the right side of the roadway.
He smashed into a vacant Mitsubishi Galant that was parked along the road, police said.
Klopfstein was pronounced dead on scene. Scheben said he had to be freed from the Scion.
Klopfstein was not wearing seatbelt.
The crash forced crews to close the left lane of the highway, which reopened later Wednesday night.
