FLORENCE, Ky. -- Some local first responders were treated to free dental care Monday.

Shearer Family and Cosmetic Dentistry offered free services to Northern Kentucky police for what they called "Smiles for Cops."

Monday was the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Dr. Shelly Shearer chose Monday to remember officers who died on 9/11 and to say thanks to current officers.

They offered root canals, cleanings, tooth pulling and Invisalign.

Shearer said between 15 and 20 police officers signed up for the program.
