FLORENCE, Ky. - Mazak Corporation will begin a $30 million expansion Monday, which is expected to create about 300 jobs and a healthier economic forecast for the Northern Kentucky region over the next three years.
“New construction has a strong ripple effect on the local economy,” said Steve Stevens, president of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
“It puts many people to work from a variety of different trades and profession and thus, generating tax revenue for the state and local governments and disposable income in the pockets of those employed to do the project,” Stevens said.
Located at the intersection of Industrial Road and Foundation Drive, Mazak employs about 750 at its Florence campus.
Its footprint will cover 800,000 square feet when the expansions are completed by the end of the year.
