For those passengers who enjoy the discounted fares offered by Allegiant Air, there is more good news on the horizon.
The discount airline that began flights at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in February with two Florida destinations may be expanding once again.
Since beginning services in Cincinnati, Allegiant added flights to St. Petersburg, Fla., Sanford, Fla., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The airline announced it may add flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fort Lauderdale in the near future.
Steve Arlinghaus, the outgoing chairman of the Kenton County Airport Board, told WCPO that low-cost airlines are watching the growth of low-cost, vacation flights out of CVG very closely.
He stopped short of saying that Allegiant would become a hub at CVG, but did say he would not surprised if the carrier -- along with Frontier Airlines -- added additional flights out of CVG.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant was found 1997 and is known for its cheap fares from smaller markets to vacation destinations in Florida, California and also Las Vegas.
